49 Seconds: Nik Ainley

3D Extraordinaire

We catch up with our newest recruit, British 3D heavy-weight and all round nice guy Nik Ainley, for our first instalment of 49 Seconds.

Where were you born?
Oxford, UK

Favourite thing about NYC?
I’ve only been here a short while, but I love how much of a melting pot it is. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a city with such a wide range of people, it really is like a microcosm of the entire world.

Least favourite thing about NYC?
Not much to complain about here, although the subway map could do with a redesign. NYC needs a Harry Beck on the case.

The first car you owned?
I started driving late and was freelancing from home in the centre of a pedestrianised city by the time I did so I never bought my own car. The car I learnt in was a Ford Focus though and smelt like peanuts.

Lunch with one person dead or alive?
Leslie Nielsen, I can imagine that being a lot of fun.

The worst film you’ve seen to date?
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, yes it was that bad.

Batman or Superman?
Batman is certainly cooler, but I grew up reading my brother’s Superman comics and enjoyed them so have to pick him.

The last concert you went to?
A friend’s band’s reunion gig, but the last proper concert was Maximo Park.
