• Vault49 for Lacoste…

…or Lacoste for Vault49.  Either way, a match made in heaven.  The Lacoste peeps have got a great vision, and Vault49 are part of it.

Myself and John were part of a shoot today in the Vault49 studio – all dolled up in the finest Lacoste threads and kicks ready to be featured in Lacoste editorials in the US.  There was absolutely, positively, no make-up involved.  Honest.  Don’t let Chris Goldteeth tell you otherwise.

  • Flat-Iron

Adam popped out of our office earlier to take a few snapshots.  Damn its freezing outside, but its a beautiful place to be!

  • Vault49′s Russian Christmas

    n535982446_1599109_7270

We’ve decided we’re going to have a Russian Christmas this year, in honour of Kat, our nomadic Russian designer.  Apparently, Christmas was banned in Russia in 1917 so they came up with this dude called Ded Moroz (Grandfather Frost) instead of Santa Claus.  He is the shit!  Straight out of Power Rangers…

  • Design Week Monterrey pics

Here’s a few pics of our lecture series/seminar last week for Design Week Monterrey.  An incredibly well organized event by CEDIM, and with a great line up of talent… we learned a lot.

  • Ornament & Obsession

Over Christmas last year I wrote an article for IdN magazine which, due to the vagaries of the publishing world, has only just made it to press in the latest issue 16v4.  This was the longest essay I’ve written since my dissertation!  The full article is below, but pick up a copy of the magazine to reference all the artwork and artists referred to.

    ORNAMENT & OBSESSION

Do you remember the last concert you went to that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up?  Well I’ve never come across any art that had quite the same effect on me, but I’ve been close on several occasions, transported there through another designer’s ability to take me on a visual journey.

  • Things to do with a bare wall..

Taking a little breather from work earlier this afternoon, we were wondering what to do with an empty wall…. Duncan is f*cking insane!  Respect is due…

  • Idn 15th Anniversary

The 15th Anniversary Edition of IdN has finally made it out of the production line with a nice little feature on Vault49.

Information about the book, sample pages and product shots can be found here: http://idnworld.com/15 amd there’s a direct link to our contribution here: http://idnworld.com/creators/?id=Vault49

It’s a more archival review of our work rather than the latest stuff, but it’s always nice to be reminded about the older stuff from time to time!

    There’s also a bilingual PDF release: http://idnworld.com/15/press/WhatDoYouLove-Vault49.pdf

  • Vault49 at a college near you?

Dear Students: We’ve been remiss in giving back to to you so far in 2009, and we hereby promise to change that!  Last year we gave lectures in Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin but so far this year we’ve been too distracted to accept invitations from colleges.  Sorry!  We’re back on it now though and we’ll try and sneak in a couple of talks in the meaty-end of this year.

Want us to come to your college?  Let us know.
