Continuing our work for the Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough, UK (that’s a shopping Mall for all our US peeps).

Here’s a cover proposal we did for Ministry of Sound in Australia, continuing a fun relationship with the MoS peeps down under.

A month or two back we produced this insane map for Hyundai, and its now ready for release. Pretty crazy. Take a look for all the detail, including the laser cut topography, gravel shoreline and roads, matchstick camp fire, and hand-drawn elements. Of course, all of this was created painstakenly by hand and photographed in our studio. We’ve got hours of video footage to edit down showing the construction which we’ll try and get around to soon…

Did I mention we do a lot of work for charridy, mate? Here’s a cheeky little number we did for Planned Parenthood. Hand-drawn, with paper cut-outs, then photographed, with some delicious type added at the end.

Remember when you first started learning Photoshop and the first thing you did was make a photo of someone you know look like a giraffe, or something more rude? Well it’s still just as funny when you’re doing it for a client… here’s a snippet of a seal we’re retouching for a radio station. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your morning…

From microscopic detail that only the eagle-eyed can enjoy, to colossal pieces of art that can be seen from OUTER SPACE. Oh what fun can be had on a holiday weekend. Vault49 are working with Yahoo! to design, direct, and produce a series of installations across a 6,000 sq ft area of event space in the heart of New York city. The pictures below show some of the Vault49/WARS team bringing designs to life at our production studio in Queens.
It’s all about the physical. We’re building, building, building these days. It’s a real challenge for the eye and your imagination, there’s no undo and redo, just lots of pencil sketches and the joy of bringing a vision to life. I love all this – our art exists, it’s tangible, you can smell it, touch it, and accidentally destroy it by sneezing. Vault49 were among the pioneers of the digital illustration revolution and were the top digital illustration trend-setter of the last decade (thank you for the kind words, WGSN). It fills me with a lot of satisfaction that we haven’t stood still. I keep thinking we might take off a lot of the old portfolio, but then we get a fantastic job from it and we rediscover the joys of the computer again. Either way, when life involves building things, life is good. Vault49. Built to last.

Apologies for the lack of updates lately. No updates means there’s a lot going on – look out for new posts soon for Fortune, more Queensgate, 98FM, Got Milk, Aquage, Hyundai, and one hellova big job for Yahoo! When I say big, I mean ridiculous. We’re making a Vault49 3D set for them across 4000 sq ft, complete with 3D letterforms, 10ft objects, giant decals, and huge anamorphic art.
Watch in amazement. I can’t make a car out of plastic, but I can make myself green with envy. Nothing but respect for these chaps.
I forget how many seasons this is that we’ve designed for Artful Dodger now (20 something I think) but here’s some new freshness for you.
A little illo we just did for the Telegraph back in the UK which went down well.
