• Vault49 goes 3D in Times Square for Wrigleys

We recently completed a stunning project for Wrigleys Lifesavers which went live last week in Times Square.

Commissioned by the lovely people at DDB, Vault49 created this hand-crafted piece of art from scratch.  We started with  a clay mold for the swingset (complete with white-sprayed 9 carat gold chain – count the carats!), laser-cut typography and background in collaboration with Ben Wilkinson-Raemer, and finally all photographed by our very own Michael Creagh.

This project was a timely reminder of just how fantastic it can be to make a living doing this, and we’re going to be doing a lot more to develop this side of the Vault49 portfolio in the coming months.

  • Skin-Deep

…and on his other arm is a tattoo of everyone of us smiling.  We’ve done quite a few tats over the years, but this is a fun one for our friend Ben.

  • Ford in Wonderland

We recently finished this Alice in Wonderland themed advertorial for the new Ford Fiesta, appearing in the Sunday Times Style magazine. Vault49 created a drive-through mixed-media fantasy world full of detail, narrative, and pixie dust. The design is heavy on the pencil-work, retouching, and a spot of CGI too.  This was a top-drawer collaboration with photography by Joe Windsor-Williams and great art direction from Laurence at Ogilvy.

Our website has been updated with this project with some nice close-ups of the details.

  • Vault49 for Lacoste…

…or Lacoste for Vault49.  Either way, a match made in heaven.  The Lacoste peeps have got a great vision, and Vault49 are part of it.

Myself and John were part of a shoot today in the Vault49 studio – all dolled up in the finest Lacoste threads and kicks ready to be featured in Lacoste editorials in the US.  There was absolutely, positively, no make-up involved.  Honest.  Don’t let Chris Goldteeth tell you otherwise.

  • Flat-Iron

Adam popped out of our office earlier to take a few snapshots.  Damn its freezing outside, but its a beautiful place to be!

  • Club Card

Earlier in the month we created this great graphic brand identity and illustration for ClubCard, the first universal and instant Retail Rewards club.  This is the beginning of a long-term relationship with a great client – look out for more in the series including a planned Vault49 animation .

  • Ministry of Sound – Clubbers Guide to 2010

We just finished creating a new triple CD release for Ministry of Sound, album artwork, digipack, and motion.  A wonderfully creative process and one which brings together a lot of our passions and ambitions for 2010.

And this was our second-choice paper-cutout piece for the cover… we were in love with this piece for a while, but finally separated our attachment to it after realizing that the option above had more kick and legibility on the shelves.

  • Sunday Times – Style Magazine illustration

It’s always a pleasure to work for the Sunday Times, and their Style Magazine provides some of the most fun editorial briefs around.  Here’s a couple of illustrations we just created for their upcoming issues on the subject of horoscopes… particularly Aries and Virgo.  It’s all a load of hocus-pocus if you ask me… but maybe I was destined to be a naysayer.

  • This Is A Limited Edition – Washbag & Eyemask

The fine folks over at Click For Art are about to release something special, and of course we had to get in on the act.

These are some of the first off the press – a limited edition washbag and eyemask set.  Well, we say washbag, but it could just easily be a pencil case, stash-bag, or…

Buy them here…  just in time for Christmas! (Or Ded Moroz day for the Russians among us).

  • MindsOpen for Quirk&Hyll

Vault49 worked together with Quirk & Hyll to develop illustrations for their new website homepage. Our work is featured alongside other lovely Debut Art familios.
