02

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run our website, respond to people, and understand how the site is working.

Information you give us directly

If you email us, contact us about new business, press, careers, or anything else, we may collect your name, email address, company, job title, message, portfolio, resume, links, and any other details you choose to send.

Website and analytics information

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may collect technical information such as pages viewed, referring pages, device type, browser, operating system, approximate location, date and time of visit, site interactions, and performance information. Some services may also process your IP address or use cookies or similar technologies.

Job applicant information

If you apply for a role, we may collect your resume, portfolio, work history, contact details, interview notes, references, and any other information you provide as part of the hiring process.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely needed. Please do not send us sensitive information unless we ask for it or it is relevant to your request.

03

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and messages;
  • discuss potential work, partnerships, press, or opportunities;
  • review job applications and manage recruitment;
  • operate, secure, and improve our website;
  • understand which pages and content are useful;
  • protect our rights, our systems, and our users;
  • comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, or contractual obligations.

Where privacy laws require us to identify a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent, our legitimate interests, steps needed before entering a contract, performance of a contract, and compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information or use website visitors' personal information for targeted advertising based on activity across unrelated websites.

04

Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies

We use analytics and performance tools to understand how people use the site and to make it faster, clearer, and more useful.

Our site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. These tools help us understand traffic and performance using aggregated data such as page views, routes, referrers, browser, device type, approximate location, and web performance metrics.

If we introduce non-essential cookies, advertising cookies, or tools that sell or share personal information under applicable privacy laws, we will update this policy and provide the required controls.

05

Who we share information with

We share information only when there is a good reason to do so. This may include:

  • website hosting, analytics, security, and performance providers;
  • email, cloud storage, project management, and recruitment tools;
  • professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants, and insurers;
  • clients or partners, where relevant to a project or enquiry;
  • public authorities, regulators, or courts when required by law.

These parties may only use information as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise allowed by law.

06

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the reason we collected it.

For example, we keep enquiries long enough to respond and maintain reasonable business records. We keep job application information for the recruitment process and for a reasonable period afterward, unless we need to keep it longer for legal reasons or you agree that we may keep it for future opportunities.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or securely archive it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. No website or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to keep information protected and limit access to people who need it.

07

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to delete information;
  • object to or restrict certain uses;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent;
  • request a copy of your information;
  • opt out of certain data sharing, sales, or targeted advertising where applicable;
  • appeal a decision we make about a privacy request.

To make a request, email hello@vault49.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
